Fixed Equipment Inspector Job Details
|
Our client is a leading oil refiner and marketer located in Texas. Our
client’s products include gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, as well as
industrial lubricants. Our client delivers its products by pipeline,
barge and ship, as well as by truck.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is seeking a Fixed Equipment Inspector (Maintenance
Engineering) to be responsible for inspection of the operating condition
the refinery’s fixed equipment. The Fixed Equipment Inspector
(Maintenance Engineering) will develop maintenance and repair plans, as
well as programs and procedures for monitoring corrosion of piping and
fixed equipment. The Fixed Equipment Inspector will develop inspection
strategies and protocols to ensure safe and reliable equipment
operation.
The Fixed Equipment Inspector (Maintenance Engineering) will also
supervise outside inspection personnel and contractors, and will provide
support to refinery production and maintenance engineers.
This is an ideal position for a Fixed Equipment Inspector (Maintenance
Engineering) with certification in API-510, API-570 and API-653, who is
seeking a challenging opportunity to have a significant impact on the
operations of our client’s refinery operations.
This is a “hands-on” position, which will be attractive for Fixed
Equipment Inspectors who enjoy being in the plant, and being personally
involved with the inspection of production equipment.
This position is located in Texas.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Perform in-plant inspections and walk-through’s in operating areas of
the refinery to assure that fixed equipment and surrounding areas are in
compliance with inspection protocols and applicable API standards.
• Compile and maintain equipment inspection histories and related files.
Keep documentation of inspections and accumulated data current.
• Perform non-destructive testing to collect data and determine the operating condition of fixed equipment.
• Issue inspection reports and recommendations for repair and resolution of defects and non-conforming components.
• Prepare inspection packages to be used in preparations for plant turnarounds and shutdowns and other maintenance activities.
• Initiate and participate in the selection of materials that resist
corrosion, erosion and other deteriorating mechanisms that can impact
safe production equipment operation.
• Review welding procedures and specifications and recommend processes and techniques to be used.
• Review design and installation specifications for production equipment
to assure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and corporate
standards.
• Conduct safety observations and audits to assure a zero (“0”) incident and lost-time accident rate.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years experience in inspection of fixed equipment in Refineries and Petrochemical plants.
• Must be API-510, API-570, and API-653 certified.
• Experience with Ultrapipe software will be a plus.
• Working knowledge of all applicable codes, including ASME, API, ASTM and NACE, as they apply to petroleum refinery equipment.
• Must have the training, education, work experience, certifications,
and qualifications required to meet the requirements of NBIC, API, AWS,
CWI, ASNT-TC-A, or equivalents.
• Must be competent in film interpretation, to certify compliance with ANSI B31.3 or equivalents.
